Those intending to invest in the Maldives may visit the Maldives on a free 30-day On-arrival tourist visa and carry out any work or research relating to making an investment in the Maldives. Once an investment is approved by the Government, all foreign employees recruited for the operations should follow the normal process of obtaining a work permit.

The Maldives use Maldives Time MVT. MVT is UTC +0500. The Maldives are group of coral Island, its latitude and longitude is 3° 15′ N and 73° 00′ E. Therefore being five hours ahead of UTC is perfect for the Maldives and it’s not surprising there is no daylight savings time.

Weather

The Maldives has two distinct seasons. The southwest monsoon (wet-season) normally extends from mid-May to November. The northeast monsoon (dry-season) extends from January to March. The month of December and April are considered as the monsoon transitional periods.
